Try caving in the Slovak Kras Karst and visit the Krasnohorska Cave in the East-Slovakian region Gemer near the Roznava town. There is any artificial lightening, any electricity, only narrow path, benches over stream and lake. You can move only with ropes in some parts of cave. You need special cave equipment - it is possible to get it in the Pension Jozefina in the Krasnohorska Dlha Luka village, which is situated nearby. Visiting cave is possible only with a caver guide. The children under eight years can go there.
The Krasnohorska cave is a part of the Slovak Kras Karst. The caves of the Slovak Karst are on the UNESCO List of the World Natural Heritage. Tourists can visit only six of them, including the Krasnohorska Cave. The other caves (more than 800) are not accessible for tourists.
The Hall of Giants is a beautiful experience. The dripstone named after the Roznava cavers is 32.6 meters high and it is one of the biggest sintro column in the world.
The cave is open during the whole year, except March. The season is from 15.6. till 15.9. There are regular admissions during the season, 3 admissions every day for maximum 10 persons. We recommend to arrange it in advance. It is necessary to do it in out-of-season period as well. The expedition lasts 2,5 - 3 hours.
