We introduce: Peter Ac - Natural Scientist, Publicist and Photographer

Peter Ac has been exploring fish life, scuba diving and taking photographs of aquatic fauna and its behavior for forty years. As a researcher and an university lecturer he is the author or co-author of more than 90 scientific papers and monographs. He is one of the best Slovak photographers of water life.

As a photographer he participated in several diving expeditions to the European and tropical seas but his main focus is on freshwater environment, especially the Danube fauna, sport fishing and scientific photography.

His archive includes over 40,000 photographs.

He regularly participates in national and international photo-contests where he has been awarded several prizes. He also participates in these contests as a member of the jury.

He regularly publishes articles and photographs in national and international journals and at the same time he is the author of several books (e.g. The Danube – River of Life, Secret Life of Fish). His photographs can be found in various publications such as the Fish Atlas of the Gabcikovo Waterdam, Of Fish and Fishermen, Slovak Wildwood, Hearth of Zitny ostrov, Auwälder, die letzten Dschungel Ruropas (2000 Tecklenborg Verlag), Leksykon zoologiczny ryby 2000, Wiedza powszechna as well as calendars, posters and accordion books.
