Medical first aid/emergency services serve to treat patients after their GP's regular office hours. If a patient's doctor's surgery is closed and the casualty department is not yet open, patients will be treated at the admissions section of any hospital.
Pharmacies are open usually on workdays from 8:00 to 18:00, during weekends and holidays there are emergency pharmacies non stop on duty.
It is recommended to close a health insurance contract before coming to Slovakia, which is usually a part of the travel insurance package.
When needing emergency health care call 112 or 115.
