Previews from the book:
Western Slovakia - a land where warm and fertile lowlands met the Carpathian foothills covered by oak and beech forestry. It`s full of large fields, vineyards and orchards. The richness of this part of Slovakia lies in rivers, meadow forests, thermal spas, as well as ancient towns, castles and charming villages.
Bratislava and the Danube River
Central Slovakia - a country of two faces - a severe and dramatic in the north where the Vah River meanders the valleys and mountain defiles, and a softer and moderate country in the south. Both areas are naturally separated by a massive saddles of the Low Tatras, with the Hron River lining the mountain range from the south side.
Turiec area (picture below) is considered to be a splendid garden of Slovakia. The deep valley is rounded by high mountains. Its fields, meadows and villages sharply contrasts with the forested slopes of the mountainous ring.
Eastern Slovakia - The highest and lowest located places i Slovakia should be looked for in the east of the country. The difference between the highest point of the Gerlach Peak and the place where the Bodrog River leaves the country is more than 2.5 kilometres. This only documents how manifold and varied is the country in the east of Slovakia.
The Spis Castle and Spiska Kapitula are included in the UNESCO list of world`s cultural heritage.
