Well done guidebook to Spis area with color pictures and maps. Contains a lot of informaion about the Spis, which historically consisted of three regions:
"Environs of Stara Lubovna along with Zamagurie form the northern Spis, the basin of the Poprad river represents the central Spis. Popradska kotlina basin in turn is central Spis. The territory drained by the river Hornad and its tributaries constitutes the southern Spis," writes the author - Jan Lacika - in the Landscape and People chapter of the book.
"Nevertheless, the new administrative and territorial division of Slovakia divided the territory of Spis in two provinces. The district of Poprad (except for the villages of Strba and Liptovska Teplicka), Kezmarok, Levoca and Stara Lubovna (except for 21 villages in the east of the district) form the province of Presov. Districts of Spisska Nova Ves, Gelnica, and Kosice - rural area are now part of the province Kosice.
The book is a part of the series called Visiting Slovakia.
The guidebook appears in English, German, Polish and Slovak laguages.
