Marianka - Pilgrimage Place, Hiking and Biking
The oldest Roman-Catholic pilgrimage place in Slovakia, stemming from 14th C, has become also one of very popular tourist spots in the immediate vicinity of Bratislava. Several precious sacral monuments can be found there (a baroque church, a paulinian monastery, etc.). It is situated in a pretty valley between afforested slopes.
How to get there
From Bratislava (Patronka – Cerveny most area) it takes a hiking or biking trip about 8 km long. By car is Marianka accessible via the Zahorska Bystrica urban district of Bratislava. Non-motorized visitors may get there directly by commuters' bus or by local bus line ending at Zahorska Bystrica, from where it takes less than 2 km of comfortable walk.
