Starý Smokovec

Stary Smokovec (1010 meters above sea) is an administrative center of the High Tatras. It is located in the central part of the High Tatras on the southern foothills of Slavkovsky Stit peak.

Stary Smokovec is an electric railway junction with connection to Poprad and other settlements.

Rack railway leads from Smokovec to Hrebienok (1285 meters above sea) with ski tows and good conditions for downhill skiing, as well as access to many beautiful tours.

Stary Smokovec offers accommodation facilities and other services for tourists. There is a supermarket, post office, bus station, shops, restaurants, gallery, and cinema.

Hrebienok is a good starting point for trips to the Slavkovsky Stit (2452 meters), Velka Studena Dolina Valley, Mala Studena Dolina Valley.
